The train to Schiphol seems logical, until it's cancelled.

Bussum most likely originated around the year 1000; the name is usually explained as a derivation of "Bosheem," meaning house in the woods. For centuries it fell under the administration of the fortified town of Naarden, until Bussum became an independent municipality in 1817. After the railway arrived in 1874, wealthy Amsterdammers moved to the Gooi village and had distinctive villas built there, especially in the Het Spiegel neighbourhood, one of the oldest villa parks in the Netherlands and a protected village townscape since 2007. Bussum also holds a unique place in media history: on 2 October 1951, the very first official Dutch television broadcast took place here, from Studio Irene.
Since 2016, Bussum has been part of the municipality of Gooise Meren, together with Naarden and Muiden, but its village character, with wooded avenues and a lively centre, has been fully preserved. Its more than 33,000 residents live spread across neighbourhoods such as Het Spiegel, the Vondelkwartier and Bussum-Zuid.
