Good to know after landing
For arrivals from within the Schengen Area without checked baggage, it usually takes 20–30 minutes to leave the terminal. With checked baggage, this is around 45–60 minutes. For flights from outside Schengen, allow 60–75 minutes. With additional border checks, this can take up to 90–120 minutes. Ready earlier than expected? Just send us a message on WhatsApp. From the agreed pickup time, the first 20 minutes of waiting time are included.
Your holiday doesn't start at Schiphol, it starts at home.
An alarm goes off while it's still dark outside. The suitcases are already packed. Maybe the kids still need to be woken up, maybe you've barely slept yourself. At that moment, there's really only one thing you want: to reach Schiphol without any hassle.
Amstelveen doesn't have its own train station. For many travellers, the holiday therefore doesn't start relaxed, but with rushing: first to the tram or bus stop, then changing at Amsterdam Zuid, with luggage, hoping everything runs on time. And if there's a disruption, a strike or roadworks, a relaxed departure suddenly turns into stress.
Driving yourself seems like an alternative, until you see the parking costs. On top of that, your car sits unused in a car park for days or weeks while you're on holiday.
A taxi takes all of that worry away. Your driver arrives at your door at the agreed time, helps with the luggage, and drops you off at the right departure hall. No searching for a parking spot, no changing trains, no crowded platforms and no getting soaked in the rain.
Amstelveen: a green commuter town with a historic character.
Until 1964, Amstelveen was known as Nieuwer-Amstel and began as a peat-extraction village west of the Amstel river. From the seventeenth century onwards, wealthy Amsterdammers moved to the area in search of peace and space, a reputation the green neighbourhoods in the northwest of the municipality still carry today. In 1915, Amstelveen got its own train station with connections to Aalsmeer, Amsterdam and Uithoorn. Passenger rail services ended in 1950, however, and Amstelveen has since been one of the largest municipalities in the Netherlands without its own train station. The original 1915 station building still stands, now in use as a shop.
After post-war reconstruction, Amstelveen grew rapidly into a sought-after commuter town, briefly the fastest-growing city in the Netherlands in the 1960s. Today the municipality has almost 96,000 residents, with international companies such as KPMG based within its borders. Amstelveen was also named the greenest city in Europe in 2014, with the Amsterdamse Bos, Jac. P. Thijssepark and Groengebied Amstelland as its green landmarks.
Because Amstelveen has no train station of its own, public transport means changing by tram or bus to Amsterdam Zuid or Schiphol. Anyone looking for a taxi from Amstelveen to Schiphol skips that transfer entirely: no tram, no waiting, just door to departure hall. Whether you live in Westwijk, the Stadshart or near Uilenstede, we'll pick you up at your door and take you straight to Schiphol.
